As one of the few Winn Dixie's still standing I love this one the most. Don't get me wrong some days the fresh produce is on its last leg. But the self checkout always run smooth and they usally have at least one normal checkout open. It's open late and they always have what I need. They have a great membership program so definitely download the app.
I'll go with the punch line first: I saved $27 just out of the kindness of the cashier's heart. Backstory: I'm a creature of habit and work 12 hour shifts at the hospital. The only think I like to drink at work is white Powerade and pink vitamin water. Walmart never has these flavors stocked so when I come to this Winn Dixie and they have them, I stock up. There's always a deal on Powerade and vitamin water but I have never gotten a Winn Dixie card. At checkout, since I didn't have one, the amazing cashier put her number in and got me the discount. I won't say her name because I don't know if they're actually allowed to do that, but she is an absolute angel. And it's not the first time they have done that for me here. I have shopped at several women Dixie's in the area and I really like this one. I can ALWAYS find what I need, the place is clean and the staff is friendly. I stop here often on Saturday's in fall when my cross country team has races down the street. Convenient place for odds and ends on my way to the park!
Of all the grocery stores in Baton Rouge, this is the one that I find to be the best. I have to say, since moving to Baton Rouge, I've been completely underwhelmed by the customer service at...well...anywhere. In general, I find the people are apathetic to rude. But this Winn-Dixie is going against the Baton Rouge grain it seems. The people were helpful and pleasant; the store was clean and well stocked; and the general air was friendly. I have to say, the prices are a little high for some items though...but I think the price is worth it for not having to go to the awful Albertson's and Walmart closer to my home.
I liked the set up of this store. The produce section was organized and had plenty of what I was looking for. I was able to save some money with their card. It was clean and well stocked. I will be back
